Refranero Popular/ Spanish Proverbs.

Los casi cien mil refranes registrados en la lengua castellana son un extraordinario material que representa uno de los grandes valores aportados por el pueblo a través de los siglos, y que los españoles siempre tenemos en cuenta en nuestra vida cotidiana, puesto que nunca faltan refranes para ilustrar nuestra conversación en cualquier momento del día. El refranero es una parte esencial de la conversación diaria de los españoles. Nuestra literatura clásica, desde el siglo XIV viene acompañada de ellos. Los refranes son frases populares que expresan consejos, pensamientos, opiniones e ideas. Generalmente suelen estructurarse en verso o con cierta rima para que sean fáciles de recordar.

The proverb is an essential part of the daily conversation of the Spaniards. Our classic literature from the fourteenth century comes with them. out of sight, out of mind	ojos que no ven, corazón que no siente
one man's meat is another man's poison	nunca llueve a gusto de todos llover = to rain
one man's meat is another man's poison	lo que a uno cura a otro mata
think before you speak	antes de hablar pensar
the best things in life are free	lo que no cuesta dinero, siempre es bueno
we all make mistakes	el que tiene boca se equivoca
as you sow, so shall you reap	lo que siembres cosecharás quien siembra vientos recoge tempestades sembrar = to sow cosechar = to harvest, reap, to pick
they that live by the sword shall die by the sword	quien a hierro mata, a hierro muere hierro = iron
